If you were house hunting in 2022, you probably remember how tough it felt. Multiple offers, bidding wars, homes gone in a couple of days.
Back then, active listings across the U.S. hit an all-time low of just 346,000 homes. Fast forward to today, and we’re sitting at over 1.1 million homes for sale. That is nearly three times more inventory in just a few years.
More homes on the market does not mean it is suddenly easy to buy. But it does mean buyers have more choice and less of that extreme competition that made 2022 so frustrating.
